主角Lawrence Wetherhold(Dennis Quaid飾)

是個因為走不出喪妻的傷痛..

而變的只關心自己的父親..

雖然學識淵博..

但跟所有人的關係都處不好..

有個Adopted brother..

Chuck Wetherhold(Thomas Haden Church飾)

是個有點吊兒啷噹..

跟Lawrence完全不同的人..

Vanessa Wetherhold(Ellen Page飾)

是個很崇拜自己父親..

並用盡方法想討他歡心的女兒..

Vanessa的哥哥..

James Wetherhold(Ashton Holmes飾)

是這個家唯一比較正常的人..

但跟家人的關係並不親近..

一天Lawrence因為意外住院..

遇到了他以前的學生Janet Hartigan(Sarah Jessica Parker飾)

而Lawrence在跟Janet相處的時間中..

也漸漸的走出傷痛..

開始過他的人生..

這部電影還不錯看..

探討家庭關係人生和感情..

成績和智慧雖然很重要..

但那並不是人生中唯一的目標..

片中Vanessa說:

Theresa Sternbridge practically runs a soup kitchen,

and she's always seen posing in photos with crack babies

and dying old crusty ladies.

And do you know why?

She scored in the 45th percentile on her SAT.

People like you and me don't need to compensate.

說明了她有多麼的瞧不起別人..

但這也是因為她父親的影響而造成的..

所以對孩子做人處事的教育是很重要的..

而Lawrence在跟Chuck的談話中..

才了解到他在人生和感情中有多麼的失敗..

也還好有Chuck的影響..

所以才能改變Vanessa和Lawrence..

所以互相學習是很重要的..

還有要常常關心身邊的人..

不要只活在自己的世界..

也不要隨便的瞧不起別人..

另外我很喜歡片中的這段話..

Vanessa:It's just that you have options. And you should be aware of all of them.

Lawrence:Well, you have options, too, Vanessa.

You can either continue to be miserable or you can just stop being angry at everyone

and accept the way things are.

Allow yourself to live.

其實我們每個人都是Smart people..

所以不要為了別人而活..

要快樂的過自己的人生..

最後本片也強調了保險套的重要性..

哈哈..

另外片中音樂都很好聽!

我很喜歡..

還有Chuck睡衣超絕的啦!

總之本片還不錯看..
